A quinoa-based Qrunch Burger, farmers' market fresh tomatoes and peppers, lemon-avocado dressing, all on a bed of spinach. The only bummer is that I forgot a cucumber. Next time. It turns out that burger salads are pretty delicious and an easy way to make your salad a bit heartier. I especially love the Qrunchs because the little bits that crumble up are great for mixing with that extra dressing at the bottom of the bowl for a final treat. In sum, burger salads are a much better, and delicious, idea than I could have ever anticipated.

ReplyDeleteLocal Burger was so great. Their burgers seems to be available in most Whole Foods store under the Hilary's Eat Well name (http://www.hilaryseatwell.com/locations). I just ate one on nachos last night, so they are good pretty much any time. I have some Qrunch burgers in my freezer, but I hadn't thought of using them in a similar way.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting that you mention Local Burger from Lawrence, KS because that's where the Hilary's Eat Well burgers were born in 2005! Qrunch is pretty much a rip off of the Local Burger original (now Hilary's). I like Hilary's more because they're the real thing! They use sunflower oil & real salt, and many other great ingredients.. I don't know, the vibe & packaging fits my personality more. And the taste. :)
